Philosophical Guidelines

Commitment to Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, we deeply value diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of our work. Our firm is committed to creating inclusive spaces and promoting cultural competency. We will incorporate specific modules and discussions on cultural differences in communication styles to ensure effective collaboration among staff members with diverse backgrounds. For the past decade we have worked with organizations to create more inclusive environments and equitable systems. All of our work is done through this lens.

Community-Driven, we want to build relationship first, connecting people to communities that empower and uplift them.

Dialogical, we believe true change starts with dialogue; through dialogue we better understand our world and our role in it.

Educative, our approach to education focuses on increased self-awareness, as well as providing tools and resources that will help support behavioral and systemic change. At the same time, we are always learning, and therefore adapting to the changing context and environments.

Inquiry-Based, curiosity drives us to try to see below the waterline on all issues to unmask the values, beliefs, structures, systems, and immunities that guide or drive behavior. We commit to listening deeply, seeking always to understand first.

Mindful, we believe that we must be fully present with the individual, challenge, or task at hand, and at the same time, fully consider the long-term ripple effects of our actions.

Participatory, all voices matter; we will be proactive in reaching out to and engaging all populations and ensuring programs are accessible.

Reflective, we create opportunities for ongoing reflection to extrapolate insight, encourage creative-thinking, and foster meaningful growth.

Spiritual/Holistic, we seek to support the whole person, cherishing their spirit, vocational purpose, and gifts. We see organizations as living organisms, that need tending and, often, healing. We believe in the capacity of communities to be nurturing, compassionate, and loving.

Strength-Based, we focus on assets, not deficits, believing that when we leverage our strengths, we are better equipped to facilitate powerful change.

Transparent, we don’t want to hoard our strategies or practices; we are committed to sharing learnings and insights in the hopes that inspires others to do the same.
